Belgrade Psychoanalytical Society was founded in 09 August 2000 as a voluntary, non-governmental and non-profit organization with the aim to develop and promote the theory, practice, education and research in the context of psychoanalysis, whose basic principles wereestablished by Sigmund Freud.

The Society ensures that its members meet the standards of professionalism and ethics in accordance with the basic principles and criteria of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA).

The BPS is working on spreading psychoanalysis on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. Thework of the Society consists of training new candidates for psychoanalysts, implementation ofpsychoanalysis as a form of therapy, supporting further development of scientificpsychoanalytical thought, as well as familiarizing related disciplines and the general public withthe psychoanalytical theory.

Who are psychoanalysts?

Psychoanalysts are professionals who have acquired their title through education in accordancewith the rules of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), and as a confirmationreceived an IPA certificate.
